so is there a better/aftermarket lp i can get? i plan on adding alot to this thing for power and miliage, but no dragster. i still have to tow my rock buggy to competitions and drive the truck daily. i will have to get a stocker somewhere tomorrow, as my 24 hr autozone has no access to one for a week.

Do a search here for FASS or FASS 2 or RASP even.
They are the most popular replacements if you're going bigger and better than stock.

A stock pump replacement will take ~45 minutes to an hour depending on how long your arms are.

alright, heres my next worry...

please someone tell me the injector pump should still be safe. ive read when the lp goes, it sometimes takes the ip with it. im royally screwed if its done too.

After hearing what you guys said, I guess my lift pump must be bad too, I cant hear it when I bump the starter, but if i touch it I can feel vibration. Well I changed my fuel filter about a month ago, filled the canister with diesel fuel, then started it. It ran for a few seconds then died. So I cracked the banjo fitting at the injection pump, bumped the starter a few times, no fuel at the injection pump. So I just tried to start it, with the banjo fitting cracked, I cranked it over for about 30 seconds, check the banjo fitting, fuel it dripping out. So I tightened up the banjo at the IP, then I cracked injectors #3 and #4, no fuel came out. So I cranked it over for a few seconds then it started, I shut it down right away, went and checked the injectors and fuel was leaking out. So then I tightened the injectors, cranked it over and floored it, after a few seconds it started ran rough for a few seconds, and had been running like new ever since! So I dont know after that if my LP is bad or what, but that was my expirience. Thought it may help.

I depends on how long your lift pump has been dead.

If you haven't experienced any of the other symptoms, dead peddle or hard starting, then you're probably ok, for now at least.

please define "dead pedal". do you mean like nothing happening when pedal is depressed? as far as starting goes, it starts almost instantly - well it did.

Driving along, go to accellerate, and nothing happens, foot goes to floor but truck continues along at the same speed.
Pump the pedal a couple times, engine burps some smoke then works like nothing was ever wrong, dead peddle.

I think it would be a wise move to check your fuel pressure before you buy a LP. You need the hose that screws onto the VP-44 schraeder valve and a 0-30 psi pressure guage

how would i have a pressure reading if the system is not primed? of course i am not looking on the truck to see the shrader. as i would guess, i have run all the fuel out of the system after it ran and then cut off.

That will probably out perform most after market fuel pumps,because its now in the tank It replaces the existing fuel tank module.It includes a pump module a harness and relay and a block of plate that replaces the old lift pump.
