Can changing torque converter affect speedo

I just had my trani rebuilt. They put in a lower stall speed t/c. Now it seems like my speedo is reading about 5-10 mph fast. The shop say's my old t/c was probly slipping. I'm not really buying it. Could the lower stall be my problem. Thanks

The speed reads of the rear end. No matter how much it slips that wont effect it.

They said the old one could be slipping. The new seems fine. It's really smooth,,like a whole new truck.

I guess I'll just get someone to pace me going down the highway. Thanks.

the reason the tranny mentioned slip is because you reconize certian RPM for a specific MPH thus the difference

Auto tranny's speedo is run by both the rear end sensor and the output shaft sensor on the tranny.

They should be in sync, unless the rear end is slipping.
