my a/c and heat only blows out of the defrost and floor vents switch is fine could it be a vacume line? and also my cruise control doesnt work light doesnt even come on could these be related?

 

Yes, you have a vacuum leak somewhere. Check all of your lines and that should clear up your problem. Also check these.

I'd say you are experiencing what I just went through on my 96. It was a bad actuator for the vents, and the vacuum hose to the cruise control servo was eaten up by battery acid (it's under the left battery).
Both of these problems though, could be caused by the lack of a check valve in the vacuum line from the vacuum pump. This happened on some trucks in 1996. Mine was affected, and oil caused the vent actuator diaphram failure.
