Unhappy Both headlights don't work!

Both headlights do not work. Parking lights and dash lights work when switch is in either position.

Any ideas where to start?

Thanks,
Mike

I clicked the high beams and the low beams came back on. Anyone know why it would do this?

Thanks,
Mike

When your 'high ' beams are on, your 'low' beams are off. This is normal, srewy but normal. Try using a test light to check for power at the high beam terminals at the bulbs.

I understand what you are saying, but with headlight switch on, no headlights would be on. I clicked the high beams, and then the high beams came on. I clicked high beams off, and the low beams came on, when they were not on before.

Thanks, Mike

Not real sure, but it almost sounds like a relay or a switch is sticking. If you have the service manual, look up the wireing for the headlights and check for relays and/or switches.

At least that's where I'd start.

My company truck was doing the same thing last week,(01 2500 gasser), and the garage replaced the switch assembly (turn signal sw.) , and it hasn't done it since? Don't know how much it cost, but it looked expensive............

Had the same thing at I am pretty sure its the contacts in the turn signal control block. I just clicked them a few dozen times and it was alright after that.

Might have to take it apart and clean it out.

Those things are not cheap. The unit is riveted together and probably has a pile of springs in it. If you find its getting worse I would look at a wreckers for a replacement and save yourself some cash.
