Bad injector?

Hey guys, on my way home last night I noticed that my truck had a slight top end knock. it is only noticeable under light load when I am cruising on the highway. I don't know if I am being paranoid but it seems like it is smoking a bit more, and the power feels a bit shy. My question is if I pull out the injectors will I be able to see the damage? or is there some other way to confirm that it is my injectors, what's a kill test? can I do it myself. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Same Thing Happened To Me. Noticed It Was A Little Sluggish & Then It Started To Rattle/knock Kind Of Bad. I Was Gonna Take It To The Shop But It Started Sounding Better. Everyone Told Me It Was Bad Fuel. Wondering If One Of The Pumps Are Fixing To Go Out? Also Heard Of Injectors "underperforing" But I Dont Know Anything About Either. It Sounds Ok Now But Mileage Is Down.

Sounds like a failing injector, pretty run of the mill on the 03 and newer trucks. Take a stethoscope and listen to each injector as it cold idles and than hot idles. If you have one or more that are making a bit of a rattle it/they will be pretty easy to locate.

Pulling and inspecting them is a complete waste of time unless you have a bench where you can pressurize and trip the solenoids.

A dead giveaway of failing injectors on the third gen engines is a drop in fuel mileage. Do not keep running, but get them fixed to avoid costly engine damage.
