I have an 2006 megacab with infinity stereo installed kenwood in dash stereo had wrong wiring harnes (non can-bus style)first off and caused engine, parking brake and 4x4 light to come on. so unhooked radio hooked stock up radio still all the lights and stuck in 4x4. Got the 120 dollar can-bus adapter hooked up aftermarket radio everything works but all the same lights and still stuck in 4x4 and get codes p0500, p0533, u0121, p2509, po532. unhooked batteries for 15 minutes still same. cleared codes with superchip programmer still same. what should i do to fix anyone have this problem.

you may have to unhook the battery and then turn the lights on in the truck....let it sit for an hour to make sure residual 12V has been depleted (turning the headlights on will make sure all of it is used).

If it were me, I would pay the dealership a nice red faced, bulging eyes, clinched fist visit.

problem with that is they are going to blame it all on the aftermarket radio. what ever happened to the days when a radio was a radio not an intergrated part of the operational function of transportation. i thought the worst that could happen was going tune less for a day or two not the lack of speedo and operational 4 wheel drive switch (soo should of got the lever on the floor instead of dial).

undoing the batteries over night usually completely resets an ECM as mentioned.

that should do it.

we use canbus controllers in the eqpt we build at work.
it's a crap shoot as to long they will function correctly. replaced often.

Maybe replace stock radio, take it back to dealer, have them fix it and then say "What did you find that caused the problem??"

Does the factory audio system have automatic volume control? If it does it is tied into the system as to increase volume as road speed increases. The system would also have a microphone to monitor cab noise as well. If it is anything like the GM system you can have the ABS and brake lights on as well as no speedometer function if you remove or have a problem with the audio system. I like the days when a radio was a radio and you didn't control your lights through a lightong control module etc. Why does everything have to be made so that it can't be fixed without a computer!!! Okay rant off...

try checking the ctm (central timing module) it controls allot especially if there are stereo controls on the steering wheel. mine went out and it fried the alarm brain, had no gauges, abs check engine break and air bag lights came on and speedo read "no bus"
