After I turn it off...Hissing

Once i shut my turck down,I have a hissing coming from the fuel tank.
I've also been having many problems...high idle, loots of coodes etc.
Should the tank be letting this pressure out after i shut it down?
COuld this be my big problems thats throwing codes such as p0236, p1690, p237. po216?
Thanks
Josh

Re:After I turn it off...Hissing

Greenmachine, hang in there, others will answer. In the mean time, I'll give it a try. I know some year models had a problem with a vent on the top of the tank. It seems a cap should have been removed from the factory and was not? Not sure of what years or models but have read about it.

Do a search under things like fuel tank, fuel tank vent, fuel lines, etc. Have you tried driving it with the fuel tank cap loose or off? Give that a shot and see if it eliminates your codes/problems. Another check is fuel pressure, both with cap and without. Might want to hook up at least a temporary fuel pressure gauge to see whats happening.

Give us more information: Like when the codes are thrown, always runs funny or occasional, low power, last fuel filter change etc. Good luck, Kevin

That's what it sounds like....the cap was left on at the factory.

The fuel tank vent can plug up real easy, but is not very difficult to remove and clean.
