Adjustable Ball joints.

I am struggling through putting new ball joints in my truck along with tie rod ends, and u joints.

Question is. The instructions on the upper adjustable joints say not to grease or tighten until after they are adjusted during the alignment. They are assuming that you are aligning the truck at the completion of instalation. I have to take thetruck someplace and may have to wait a couple of days to get it in for the alignment. DO I grease these? I realize that I will have to tighten them.

Also anyone have a general idea on wich position to put them initially upon installation?

I hope to get these done tomorrow. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

put them in then you need to pull out grease fitting and turn adjustment nut and watch the spindle , its easy to do with tire on to see better and just get it as straight up and done as you can .

ball joints

does anyone know if the TRW adjustable upper ball joints have a dust boot on them? I hope not because mine did not come with any and the dealer already put them in. cost me 550 for labor plus 90 for alignment. plus 400 for the parts.

Hondo,

How did you make out with the adjustables? Would you do them again if needed? Where did you purchase the ball joins? What brand are they?

Sorry for all the questions but I think I am getting close to doing mine also.
Funny squeeks and clunks starting to happen when turning at slow speeds.
Might be the front axle u-joints, balljoints, or steering components? All of the above? I will be looking into this over the weekend.

What miles did you have on the ball joints? Were they the stock ones?

Thanks, Jeff
