97 Dodge 5 speed nv4500 leak

I have a 97 Dodge/ Cummings/ 4x4 /5 speed w/ a NV4500(I think) I just replaced a rear U joint and all was well now 2k miles later the trans and transfer case both seem to be leaking I pressure washed the underside and it seems like the rear half of the transmission is leaking through the case (aluminum casting) I have been told that the fix is an updated cast iron replacement does anyone have any advice to offer (or a parts!!) or know of this problem (It's ok to tell me I’m seeing things )
I need this truck to haul my race rig and have a short time to fix it !! Also the transfer case seems to be weeping a slight amount from the case seam
The truck has 223 K and a full banks kit I absolutely Love it but can't have it leaking or risk being stranded with my trailer on the side of the road
I've also been told to do the 5th gear nut fix while it's apart

I plan to keep this truck and want to fix it right once!

Any and all advice is welcome

Thanks
John

John,

No worries, mate...

1.Thoroughly clean the tranny & transfer case.
2.Drive to work or the beer store or something, - check for the leak location.
Repeat #2 until you FIND the leak.
3.For a cheap, long-lasting fix - replace the bad seal/gasket, or JB-weld the case
