92 Fuseable Link

Started my 92,ran for about 3 seconds and it shut down. burned up fuseable link (A1 Red) leading to ignition switch ( terminal#7) after trouble shooting, found dark blue lead ( A21,terminal#2,ign.switch) leading to black 8 pin connector at left rear side of intake then on to fuel heater, pump and a few other sensors in this close area. Does any of this ring a bell to anyone? I'm new to the forum and glad to lend an ear!

There have been some reports of the fuel heater connection getting burned and shorting. You might start there. Disconnect the fuel heater and see if that was your problem.

Thanks for the reply! I know I'm close . When I disconnect the 8 pin connector I stop the direct short between the ignition switch terminals #7 ( red- power in) and terminal #2 ( dark blue-ignition run/ start) I'm going to have a cup of coffee and read a little more in the service manual.

There's a splice that ties all the blue wires together on the side of the engine. Fuel spilled from filter changes makes the electrical tape soften up and fall off, the splice bumps the block, and you have a blown fusible link.
