hey guys

I just got an 05 dually with the older style 6 spd and had a shift kit put in.

now all I hear in the truck from 0 to 40 mph is driveline noise. The truck was 1 day old when I put in the shift kit and I'm pretty sure the driveline noise was nowhere near as bad before the shift kit. when you press the clutch or go to neutral the noise disappears so that kind of narrows it down. The noise is like a high pitched whining.

is it possible that the shift kit is on funny or do duallys just have way more driveline noise than 3/4 tons?

really appreciate your help on this one, I don't want to screw up a brand new truck

 

Guys i figure I'm just being paranoid.

I'll break it in first it's still got less than 300 miles.

 

I hate to sound stupid, but is the tranny full of fluid?

 

Did the shift kit replace a plastic bearing or is one now missing? Usually, there are isolator bearings to reduce the transmission of NVH characteristics.

 

I talked to a guy with a stroke that has one and he said his made more noise too but other than that no complaint I think it's just the way their made which transmits more noise.
