4000 GSK goes to 2200 RPM at idle

Could be a couple of things
The first thing is, did you remove all of the shims on both sides of the springs? As i can recall on my truck i had three shims on each side to remove.
Secondly, did u get the governer springs measured and adjusted right? If not, u can try backing off on them till u get a comfortable idle, or are a little high or a little low then u can fine adjust with the idle adjustment screw..
If you can get this done, and ur rpms drop super slowly for a little while, ur springs are still too tight, if they drop really rapidly and all of a sudden give u a low idle, they are too loose....
What i would do if i was you, back off the springs two clicks at a time, until u get the idle close enough to adjust the screw, OR just redo the whole GSK..
I have read that something like 6 and 3/4 turns will get u close enough to idle specs, (give or take a couple of clicks)
Hope this helps

GSK
governers spring kit, a popular update for a 12 valve engine that allows the engine to fuel harder to either 3200 or 4000 rpms. Depending on which one you get. A 3000 rpm GSK kit and a 4000 RPM GSK kit are among the most common, but you can purchase Big RPM kits in the 5000 rpm range or so.
IN a nutshell all the GSK does, is widen the normally narrow 12V powerband (defuels at 2200 in stock form or so) and really allows you to better use your modifications or power to a fuller potential.
Combined with injector pump timing, a plate, and some sort of air intake (and or turbo) upgrades your truck will feel like a totally different animal...
