I posted this in the 3rd gen section as well....

My brother went out to start his 04' Ram 2500 (HO Cummins, 48RE) this morning and it was dead (wouldn't turn over and no dash lights). However the power windows, lights, stereo, etc all work (batteries are good). He went through all the fuses and they are all good. We put a scanner on it and we get "no response".
If anyone has any ideas what to check next, I would greatly appreciate the advise. As I mentioned earlier the dash/gauges are pretty much dead also. The odometer and "door ajar" light will come on when the door is open but that is it....none of the other lights will come on ("wait to start", "check engine", etc) when the key is turned to the "on" position. Also, just as a side note, the truck has a Banks 6-gun on it.
Two suggestions I have gotten so far are a fried FCM, or a bad ignition switch. The only thing that bothers me about the switch being bad is, the radio and windows work when it is turned to the "on" position so I know it's doing something. Thanks for any help

ok, try disconnecting the battery's for 30min. if that doesn't work, try and by pass the ignition switch to see if its the switch or not.
