1999 Dodge Trans, Will Not Engage
I am a NEW diesel owner and do not know a lot about add-ons and modifications that can be done to the Dodge 2500 Diesel. It looks like a book could be written!
Six months ago, at 118K my truck decided to NOT shift from 2nd to 3rd during the middle of a trip through WV. The problem resolved itself in about 15 to 20 minutes, and did not reappear until 2 weeks ago. When the problem did not persist I put it on the back burner TO DO LIST. BAD MOVE I GUESS! Since then, that problem aquired 3 to 4 more times and there was also some irregular shifting behavior which rapidly progressed to the being unable to engage the drivetrain. I have read a lot on the forum about this problem, but still seek advise. The trucks job is lightduty with synthetic ATF. What has happened, whats my best options to correct it so it will not happen again irreguardless of what I may do later to increase torque output?? I do not want to stick with a Trans that has lub. problems if I do not have too.
