1999 dodge lift transfer pump how to bleed fuel
Well i was told by the dealer that i needed a new lift transfer pump. Well My father and i replaced it. Then we started it it ran for a good 30 seconds and stalled. Is there a bleed technique to get any air out of the lines/injector pump? Any help would be much appreciated!!!

I just crack the 1/8 pipe plug on top of the filter housing and bump the starter to make sure the filter canister is full. Do this until fuel comes out and a couple times more. Then just crank the heck out of it for 15 secs. wait 2 mins, the 15 secs. repeat.
I'm sure someone else will post how to crack open the injector fuel lines, but I've never had to do that.

The Ony Way I Know Works Is If You Crack Open A Few Injectors To Release The Air. Crack Open #1 Untill You See Air Bubbles Or Some Diesel, Then Tighten And Repeat Till The Fith One ( #6 Is Too Much A Pain In The A** )

No, you crack them open at the head. The fitting is a 19MM. A flare nut wrench works best but it can be done with a regular wrench.

l/p bleeding
A 3/4 isn't really the right size to use 19 mm is the right one. Open 1,3,4 and let them pour fuel out and when you get a good flow stop and close them down and bleed one at a time. Then it will start.

I just changed the lift pump on my '99 today also.
Cycled the lift pump 4 times, then fired it up.
As usual, it ran for about 15 seconds and died.
Cranked it for about 20 seconds and it lit back off, as usual.

Lift Pump's
I just had a friend's lift pump go out also ... do they go out often? what mileage should you get out of them so I know when to start looking? Also how hard is it to install a pressure gauge I have a 2003. On my 89 I installed a Racor along with a electric pump to fill the filter pretty simple to do and I think the electric would even run the truck if the manual ever went out. what do ya think electric on the 2003 for a backup??

If you wrenchless and have to get the air out you can just bump the starter a few times to get the lines filled up and then just keep cranking while you push the go pedal to the floor to let the air flow through the system.

boy are you are lucky to have one that works
Boy what a difference in HP's I am very jealous of the difference in HP's That power would be very good to have. I pale in comparison with. 258 HP and 448 tq With 275 injectors and Van-Aken PNP. No wonder that everyone passes me in a intersection and on the hiway if I haven't got 2 miles of open road to pass a vehicle.
