'06 Won't Crank!!! Not Good
Been havin a little trouble on my '06 6speed, wont crank at times, just clicks like the starter's hot or bad solenoid, turn the key, just clicks, wasn't a big deal the last couple of weeks, i thought it was my floormats in the way of the clutch, and i'd try it a couple of times and it would work...but today i hauled a dozer, heavy load about 38,000lbs total about 50 miles and cut the truck off to unload and went to crank it back and it wont do crap!!!, its still sittin on the jobsite, had to get a ride home, im sure all of my tools will get stolen tonight...i'm a die-hard dodge fan, but this is downright embarassing!!!!, i dont wanna get it towed, its still hooked to a gooseneck, is it the neutral safety switch, or the starter, or is it my Edge juice w/attitude????, i unhooked the batteries, didnt help, in the mornin i'll take the juice off and try that, by the way the truck only has 5,000 miles on it, any suggestions would be appreciated.....Brynn

i'd take a gearhead & a multimeter along, and a few pieces of wire, alligator clips.
here's what i would do it if was a gasser:
find starter solenoid, one guy get in truck, hold clutch, set brake, key on (like ready to crank)
then jumper around the soleniod to make the starter spin. that should by pass all the stuff & spin the starter, with key on, that should keep it running.

......on a no crank situation there is an update to the FCM that takes care of that problem ( i know for sure it applies to 48re equipped trucks). You also have to make sure to clear the codes after the update as that "verifys" the repair is complete so the truck will start. The yellow wire right behind the drivers side battery leads to the starter solenoid. Trans in N, key on, jump that yellow wire to Bat + and the truck will start. At least you can get it to where you need it with that.

im glad you told me that, dodge roadside assistance sent a rollback to pick it up earlier, so i won't get to try that, but i'm sure this will happen again and that might save me in a tight situation, wish i'd have known that last night...
