I usually park a mile away, and take up 4 or so spaces, 16 if I have my trailer on

Seems there was a reverse poll not long ago. I have always backed in with trucks for as far back as I can remember. Easier in and ALWAYS easier out. I do it even driving the grocery getter Suzuki Sidekick, even though that is rather silly most of the time. Just habit now.

BTW I also put the key in the Sidekick, turn it on and wait. Then realize I really don't need to wait. That is just habit now also.

 

I pull super-b`s and back them under bins and onto the tippers, so this little pick-me-up isnt a problem to back, or drive into many spots. Try parrallel parking a truck 85 feet long, with 2 trailers. There is about 100 feet between a ditch and a curb at one mill i go to.

 

X2. Park in the boonies use 2 spots for length and walk it!

 

I always back in, it easier. Its company policy in my Chevy 4500 service truck to "back in" to all parking spaces. Tried to get my wife to back in once when we had to '04 model, thats where the dent in the bumper came from. AARRRGGHH!!..
Don't feel bad if you can't get a full size truck into alot of parking spaces these days. The parking spaces are smaller, the drive isles are narrower... I really think they are made for ATV's, but I'm not sure I could get my Sportsman in there on the first try!!

 

It is decidedly easier to back into a parking spot. My wife thinks that by me backing into a spot, it's kinda like marking your territory. I tell her NO.....not at all, marking your spot is for the PSD guys with the leaky oil lines.

Oh yeah, she drives a VW rabbit, which is kinda funny when you think about it. She traded a Navigator for the Bunny.

 

I absolutely cannot park nose in if my life depended on it, unless it's one of those diagonal spots. I much rather back into my spot both at home under the carport and at work. In fact everyone I work with knows to leave one of the last 3 spots open so I can pull around the corner of the building and back it in. Makes it a lot easier to get out later. If I'm out shopping some where, I will park far away so I don't have to squeeze between two cars.

 

i have no trouble parking my rig. it may have something to do with spending about 500,000 miles behind the wheel of a semi.

 

If I couldn't I'd starve to death cause I couldn't eat at Sonic.

i like to back in so it easyer to leave after problem i find is when i back in its hard to see how cloes the other car is to ur bumper u cant look though the back window cuz tailgate there so i just go till i think its good if the nose sticks out oh well lol
