Would You Trade?

ok here's my dilema, and i've been thinking about it for awhile. would you trade my truck, the one in my sig., for this one http://woodhouse.com/details.htm basically all i'm trading for is the lesser miles and the manual trans vs. my auto. but there's no pic i know, but i'm talking to the guy via e-mail about it to see what he can do. i think it'd be a good deal cause all my mods can go on it and of course it has less miles and a manual which i've always wanted. please tell me what you think. BTW, mine has over 91000 miles. and my dream one day would be to be the king of the sled pulls.

i'd say that's Ridiculous. nah, if its a perfect trade and you get less miles and a manual then it'll be good but do you know exactly what your getting? does your truck have any probs. what about the new truck what probs might it have.

heck no, i tried it myself, just go up to "search inventory" and put in "used" "dodge" "2500" and then hit "go" and then scroll down to the 2001 with 67001 there's no pic yet, i'm waitin on that email.

also, in the email, he asked me what questions he could answer for me, is there anything off the top of ya'lls head that you would/could ask him?

Does he have any service records of differential/tranny/x-fer case/oil changes?

Was the IP ever replaced?

Was the LP relocated or replaced?

Is there a fifth wheel ball in the bed?

Stock clutch? (I'm assuming it is)

Any grinding during shifts?

Any leaks/seepage?

Any mods?

How much tread on tires?

How new are the brakes?

Did they go over the whole truck?

Carfax report?

There are lots more...

Why the trade?

If there was any way for you to see the truck in person and/or drive the truck, you could determin if it is worth the trade.

Digital Bullet brought up some interesting questions to ask as well.
Good luck.

When you deal with Woodhouse, you must go look first.

I bought my truck there when I lived in Omaha. When I went to look at what they had, they had about 20 2nd gens. (This was when the 3rd gens just came out). They told me every single truck was the same price (28k) except for the two beat the heck farm trucks that were (26k). I looked over every truck and I have to say I got the best of the lot at the time. However, they didn't like to bargain much and they start considerably higher than a lot of places I've been looking at since. You also have to look the trucks over with a fine toothed comb. Some of the trucks had a bunch of cover up work done to them. (Not sure if it was them or the previous owner though.)

Now, they are a big dealer and have a huge selection usually. I was also happy with their service and my parents ended up there buying a new car too.

Gotta keep in mind, they are the 2nd largest FERD dealer in the country too and trust me, they like their FERDs.

Have a good one!

Keep in mind you know YOUR truck and you don't know the OTHER truck.

Digital Bullet, very good post with all the questions and all, thank you. and my truck has over 91000 miles on her, plenty of life left but not sure about the trans, its still holding up but i can slip the torque converter like its nothing. also i've always wanted a manual but i kinda talked myself into an auto, and i do admit it that i do not regret buying it, its been nothing but a great truck to me and it still is. also, i would like to get pretty heavy into sled pulling one day and wouldn't the manual be better for that?

and of course all my mods will fit on the 01 from my 02. just the main reason i'm even considering it is because of the lesser miles and the manual trans. i will email him some questions and ask for a pic as well. and i would be able to get to blair this week and look at it, it ain't too far of a drive for me.

thanks everyone!
