Lets see

Fuel economy, i tow alot, i do alot of highway travel, and they are better on fuel than gassers. On a lighter note tho, the sound, the smoke, and chicks dig em!

Because it's a real engine, and gassers belong in cars.

I work in the oil field, and in order to tow our hardware and get out of sticky situations on rough lease roads, the diesel is a MUST.

..to that member that stated that diesel tastes better than gas, after siphoning both I can honestly say that is true! I was burping up diesel for 2 days after!

Cool

I drive a Cummins because of the power and the fuel economy. I drive a Dodge because of Ford and Chevy, need I say any more?

I don't get quite that kind of mileage loaded..............maybe should've bought a Cummins.
I don't drive a diesel, my wife gets to. I have the weenie F150 (company vehicle). She drives a diesel because it get's 50% better fuel economy, has 100% more torque, it's half a cab bigger than the Q.C Ram she had, and it's flat out COOLER!
DOesn't hurt either that the F150 parked next to it each night has a transfer tank full of diesel that sneaks into it while we sleep!

My brother derides my truck all the time, especially since he bought his '05 F150 with the 5.7L, 320-ish hp gas motor....I TRY to be gentle at these times, but sometimes I am forced to mention that my truck can pull more, haul more, go for 400k before a rebuild, has close to the same hp and WAY more torgue (with the EZ) and gets 20-ish combined mpg - compared to his 13 mpg.

He has a nice little truck, it's just somewhat....limited!

better made truck all around than gas trucks. the engine is bulletproof. gas mileage is better. I can do what I want, when I want to with it. I shoulda got a diesel truck 10 years ago.

I just went on a trip with a friend of mine to Canada. We drove his Jetta diesel. Cost us $150 for 2500 miles. Do that in something with a gas motor. Can't even do that on most motorcycles.

$6,000 for an engine upgrade is well worth it considering an overhaul every 100k to 200k on a gas motor adds up to way more than once every 500k.

Here's my list for driving a cummins. Not in any particular order.

1. I can spend the same money on a programmer/chip, and get 15 hp with a gas motor and 115 hp with a diesel.
2. The look on the guy's face in the V8 mustang I just drove by like he was sitting still.
3. Chicks love diesels.
4. Being able to blow smoke at anybody at anytime.
5. Pulling anything that my hitch will hold.
6. It doesn't run on rice or gas.
7. My headlights don't spotlight coons when I'm hooked to a trailer.
8. Tax write off owning a diesel performance business.
9. My truck still runs when my buddies 6.0s are dropping like flies. I've converted one to a dodge and I've got another one looking for one.
10. Sound.
11. Smell
12. Cause I wanted one!
13................

i bought a diesel for the reliablitly. the tourqe was a huge bonus. and i think its a status thing to say you have a diesel over a gasser, especially if its a cummins.

Let see first off I'm a Texan 95 percent of the ppl here in texas drive a diesel, but the diesel of choice is a Dodge CTD, and besides I pull a 28ft inclose trailer loaded down with race car, golf cart and all the spare parts that I need just in case I break down in race event and all tools to rebuild a motor, and still can't barely feel it pulling down the highways at 80+, plus 17 mpg how can you beat that
