who else finds themselves....

Looking out the window of anyone Else's cars when they stomp the skinny pedal expecting that pillar of smoke or expect to hear that lovely sound of the turbo hitting around 20lbs of boost. I hate it, we are the only ones with a Smokey diesel and yet, in every car, i find myself watching and hoping for a poof of smoke...

Addicted? i think not.

I thought I was the only one, but I see that I'm not alone. I didn't want to mention anything, but I did it sitting in my Dad's '96 gasser yesterday. He even asked why I was bent forward looking to the passenger side mirror.

My truck doesn't smoke... maybe I never floored it enough.
My wife caught me though, perking up ears when another Ram drives past. She says, I don;t react to other diesels the same way. She said I look like my long gone hunting dog when she heard a deer or a bird: ears perked, and looking intently at what stirred up the commotion.

i dont find myself doing that but i do find myself:

waiting to start 3-4 sec on EVERY vehicle, diesel or not out of habbit

rolling down the windows while the WTS light is on, and looking in the passenger mirror for the little puff of smoke at startup.

my ears perking up at the sound of a cummins and quickly being able to identify 12v, 24v, or common rail. and i aint talking about by sight either!

checking to see what diesel vs gas is, and chuckling to myself at how much cheaper diesel is.

My fiancé swears I have an obsession... All because I always "say hi" to other CTD rams in the area with a little puff and I always look at the mirrors when I take off. Oh and most of the PS and Durasnacks owners around here hate me

I also have a problem with falling asleep in other people's cars because I find myself that bored. Oh and I always hate starting and moving someone's car because I can never tell if it started or not, and if it was running I almost always still hit the starter because I couldn't hear it running

I can't say I have that problem anymore,As soon as I start my Cummins up in the garage that's all I see Smoke every morning. If someone wants me to go with them somewhere,I just tell them I will meet them there.
