Where to find Reman or rebuilt Cummins complete motors?

Well I have to get my motor rebuilt but I was told that it would be cheeper to buy a reman or rebuilt motor and then build that up. My problem is that i cannot find one. I did find some take outs from Busses but those are run hard. Can I get them from the Cummins plant or is there a company out there have some in stock? It doesnt matter if it is built up or stock I just need a new motor.

May i ask why you have to get a new motor, i thought that you blew the headgasket on your truck? Did you just purchase this truck? Anyway, that is a big time bummer, but you will get it back running again and all will be good.

Probably not what you want to hear but you can get one through your Dodge dealer. They are a complete engine assembly right down to the oil filter. Problem is that list on them is about $15000.00. If your just looking for a short block you can pick that up for about $6000.00. Just a little info fwi.

Cummins Dealer ???????? Cummins Reman program. Is the block hooped and can't be re-bored, a lot cheaper to put in 6 pistons and some machine work with a fresh set of bearings. PK

Ya I have 3 scored so far and they havent even taken the engine apart yet so there might be more. Kent Crowder is working on it and he said it might be easier to buy a reman and put in some of the parts i have. The might rebuild but it depends on how bad the engine is when its completly apart. They are going to see how deep the cuts are and it might need new sleeves. Not sure of the extend of the damagee but the most it will cost is 8k and that includes a hx-35 for 1k . I want to keep internals stock but stud and fire ring the head and install 60# springs, 4k GSK, 370 injectors and what else? Already have fuel plate and #4 cam plate.

Oh and I did only drive it 149 miles when the head gasket blew. Thats when they found all the internal damage. So we are taking the PO to court for Fraud cuz he said the engine was new. There is no way I or the 3k miles he said were on it would do this much damage. I guess its up to the judge to decide.

Yeah, that is a bummer, finally got a truck that you were looking forward and the guy that sold it to you lied to your face about the motor. Well hopefully you can get some money back to have the motor fixed

If you don't want to have it rebuilt, you could look into a Cummins Recon engine...
