EZ OFF oven Cleaner also works well for the really dirty stuff. But beware it may also take some paint with it.

first when i used to detail cars while in college we used kerosene and a pressure washer to detail the engine did a great job

second, they have ice racses on georgetown resevoir evry year up the road from my place i drive by these guys parking their racing rigs on the lake. i swear this is going to happen to them one day

I work my fingers to the bone and then use ArmorAll and little terry clothes to make sure everything is dry and streak free.
