There are good forums and bad ones. This is the best one I've ever been to. No one makes fun of you if you mistype or ask a dumb question that you could not find an answer to in the searches. And when I'm out and about, I try to help others as well regardless of brand.

usually questions of that category should get somebody beat up,,, but if your here for real help and problems I would back this forum up 100%

Everyone is always wanting to help here.

I agree but there are times when jokes are made in response to a question, they just may not be funny to everyone. Just curious what the question was that could get the bike response.

hopefully i will get my furd sold pretty soon so i will have no other reason to visit those forums other than to laugh at the problems they are having when my "old 12 valve" just keeps trucking along. i sold my 24 valve when i got the furd, then i had to buy a 12 valve to have something to drive while the ford was waiting on parts. i remembered what it was like to have torque again. now i just have get all the men-folk (ford lovers) in my wifes family to see the light. my brother-in-law talked crap on dodge and insisted if it wasnt a ford he wouldnt drive it. then i gave him a copy of diesel power magazine and took him for a ride in my truck. if he wasnt such a meat head i think he would get a dodge next time, but then i would be right and he would be wrong and we cant have that

Funny somebody mentioned the race thing.. I would say the same thing.. If it has a blue oval it seems to have to be on 6" lift, 40" tires and racing every light around this town. Funny how that works. Add more weight to your truck and lift it up to go fast? Works for NASCAR...

I must admit, this is the best site that I visit. I joined one of the Ford sites to get some info on old ford parts ( pre 79 ) and they were real jerkoffs. I accually found out what I wanted on this site and have since passed on to other guys looking for the same info. I really can't complaine, I like old Fords,(pre 79 ) , Old Chevys ( pre 86 ) and all Dodges............

Sounds like you have a headgasket issue causing the cooling system to be overpressurized. The fix for this is headgaskets and new EGR cooler on Fords dime. The aftermarket fix is to put ARP headstuds in and get an EGR delete kit and a programmer to disable it. Run a stock 6.0 hard and this is what you will get, run it hard and long and you will need a motor LOL..... Seen it happen to a good friend of mine right in front of me. BOOM!!!!!! with a white cloud of smoke/steam....

If you want to go the cheap route, have the dealer do the headgaskets and then buy an EGR delete kit with programmer. You won't have any warranty if you do this.

because i cant keep it running long enough to sell it. i have plans to unload it, but it seems i am going to have to go through the whole fuel injection system to get it running first. i did go look at mega cabs, but i just dont like them, the bed is too short for me and with all the smog stuff in california now, it looks like i am going to have to stuff the kids in an extended cab 12 valve. too bad dodge doesnt offer anything like an excursion with a cummins. i think i could deal with smog laws to get something like that

the ford boys do seem to be gluttens for punishment. they have the dealer beating them up on repairs, they beat each other up on the forums, and they always try to race us cummins and the duramax guys, only to get beat up again.

Amen brother! Been saying that for years. Not true in every case of course, but more or less. It shows on the road too, not very courteous drivers for the most part. Or maybe they won't let me merge because they secretly feel threatened. Dodge envy it is.

I just went round and round with Ford Dealer on one of our 6.0s at work that kept breaking down. Four injectors, still didnt run, then one of the new injectors was bad, Still cut out, then EGR, then Harness, then Turbo, then and we had just done FICM, harness, one injector a year ago. The truck cost 14,000 a few years ago when we got it used, now we have spent $7,000 on top of that to keep it running, not mention maintenance, tires, new brake controller, new radio, etc.
So Fire away on the 6.0 question, I might not know all the answers, but my advice is cheaper than $7K.

I too find this forum more professional and open minded (when it comes to other vehicals). And a very knowledgeable bunch.

I commute in a Grand marquis. I had some trouble with it, so I logged on to a forum to find a solution and it seemed that no one could answer my question about the trouble i was having, even other post had same question, but no answers. But ALL of them could tell me how big of speakers could fit in the back seat/trunk and how big of rims I could run with stock suspension. Thats great, just what I need for my $500 commuter car with 250,000 miles.

Thanks guys for all the good help here on DTR.
