Did the search. What is the top speed in a 05 3500 dully. I had it up to 100mph. I think it had more.

 

I've heard that it is speed limited at 120...

But, it probably depends on your rear-end ratio.

(I know that mine doesn' go above 75...)

 

got mine up to 118 hard to tell was trying to pay attention to the road more then the odom.

I think mine starts cutting out at about 96 mph or so. I am sure the 4.10s in the rear have alot to do with that tho...

It is a pain, pulling on a Ford all the way to 96, then have him catch up with you.

 

Here in Kansas it's 70 mph. Oh... you meant if we break the law or run it on a track. Hypotheticly speaking, I might have been able to squeak out 110 if I was on a track somewhere. I would have still had more petal, but thought better of it.

 

Come on man, everything over 110 is gravy to the cop that pulls you over...

Fastest I've been on a road is 140 in a Jaguar... Fastest I've been in my truck is 90 down a really really big hill.

But, I have a 3200 RPM valve spring in the mail. (Maybe then I can hit 100. )

 

i hit 110 in my 2006 CTD, not dually though. it felt like i was going about 80-90. i think it still had more to give also.

 

You want a adrenalin filled experience... I was in the passenger seat going 205 on a long straight road here in Texas... And passed a tractor on the road!!! ... That was awesome!!! Scary... But Awesome!!!
I have had my truck runnin 115mph with the cruise on... It had more petal but I didn't need to use it to pass anyone
Anyone else notice that the 3rd gens have great throttle response running over 90?

So what were you in OILGUY? Not a lot of cars that will do 205...

 

When you get them up to speed, you've already got the boost built up, so zero turbo lag. What were you in? 205 that would be scarry fast on the road. 135-140 is the fastest I've ever been on the road and that was at like 2 in the morning. Fastest with a cummins about 120 and had some nice smoke rolling out the tail pipe as well.

 

Believe it or not... a 78 elcamino with a lot of work done to it. It took about 5 miles to get it there and it seemed like 5 miles to get it shut down! It had a bunch of suspension and engine work and if I do it again... it will be at a track in a champcar... not a chevy!

So did you watch the needle on the speedo wrap around 2x to know you got to 205? Don't the speedo's stop at like 120 maybe? Just wondering how you know 205.

 

mine gets 100 mph and that's as far she will go until i put in a 3k gsk kit.It still has lots left in it if it had more fuel.
