LP
On my way home from an ice fishing (ice drinking ) trip.
Had to get towed to an out of town dealer.
Arrived at 1330 hrs.
The dealer had to drive 50 miles round trip to another town to get the intank conversion kit.
Had me back on the road by 1830.
Very impressed!

BTW, I had not showered, brushed my teath or changed my clothes for three days...so that MIGHT have had something to do with getting me in and out in a hurry.

The wife had packed me a nice suitcase full of clean clothes and toiletries ,but I just could not bring myself to use any of the stuff.

Wifey was not impressed....I don't know why....

LP shut me down and I had to limp home restarting it several times. Ran it out of fuel when I put the Edge Juice on 5x5 and held it WOT. It actually sucked the fuel lines dry! Bled the injectors and was back at it adding a pusher pump behind the new LP.

I bought mine in March to tow my 20ft camper. I've made 5 200+ mile trips with it. Always faithful around town but hates towing my camper.

First time: Oil lift pump (the one behind the power steering pump) springs a leak. Didnt leave me stranded but took 6 gallons of oil to get home.

Second time: Brake line blew out in West Virginia. Towed home to Cincinnati.

Third Time: Transmission went out in Pittsburgh. Towed to Cambridge for repair, then back to Cincinnati.

Hopefully there isnt anything else to fail on my truck

Knocking on ever piece of wood I see, I have yet to have been stranded. I just keep up on regular and preventive maintenance. My wife says I drive like a grandma, so Im sure that helps. Well, another 12 hour one way trip tommorow for the holidays....."knock knock knock!!"

Have a great holidays! I get to pass through this great midwest blizzard! Whoo hoo!

Broken fuel line to the injector caused my baby to go for the big ride on the flatbed.
2nd time was a front hub let loose and another ride.

Unhappy

Good morning to all,
I've been registered on this site for a few months but affraid to post my thoughts, "I'm only a wrentcher!" My family of four were on vacation 2200 miles from home when my LP went, two dealerships told me that they couldn't help me do to the fact of the pump being on a Nation wide back order. A small but large hearted "mom and pop" shop towed my truck. We really didn't have the money, I payed for the tow and the Fass Sytem he ordered. I installed it useing his garage and tools. Made it all the way home, then the Injction Pump showed it's ugly head. That's been replaced and I'm now ordering gauges to assist me that this won't happen again. Thanks for all the great reading, as money allows I'll be making some changes to my truck. With the help from all who post. Thanks again, enjoy the Holidays!

I had the luck of both the Lift pump and the Injector pump dieing at the same time while I was about a mile from home. My dad got the pleasure of towing it home by a chain with his powerjoke. Can't wait till his truck starts breaking down.

Diesel Prices

Other than that only stranded was running out of fuel due to the sending unit going bad. 1st time ran out at 1/8. Ok new mental note. filled up that next tank it ran out at 1/4 tank. LP started going but never stranded me. Did the intank to replace the pump and sender in one shot

My fuel level sender went out, and led me to believe that I had fuel when I actually didn't. lol.
So I ran out of fuel.
I also left the fridge plugged in over a couple days, and killed the batteries.
Then Batteries died on me when it was -30 last winter (5 year old batteries). Put new ones in, and it was good.
