throttle linkage between where the cable from your foot attaches to the front of the pump, and leads back to the actual throttle lever, lost it on i-75 rush hour, with a loaded trailer, got towed home by a guy who used to run a 12v dodge wrecker, and had the same problem several times. other then that, not a problem.

On mine?

throttle cable went out a mile or so from home, Ive had a battery die on me once, I carry a load tester with me, and no starts due to faulty connections i had before on my battery cables. other than that, knock on wood,no issues with the truck...

vp-44 at 199728, finally had to be towed. my chevy friends laughed but they won't dare keep one of their trucks that long.

Had an alternator go bad on me on the old 91, had 260,000 miles on the truck and the battery didn't have enough juice to jump start. (And we had to get jumped by a Powerstroke, that's when I first figured out how Ford hood latches worked.) So we drove across the street to Autozone and put a new alternator on, then the batteries started giving me flak 2 years later (same batteries), and had the master brake cylinder go goofy on me to the point that I was dependent on the Getrag to slow down for stop lights.

Nothing on my current truck. I had batteries fail twice on my 1996.

99- Bolts on fan pulley fell out wraping the belt and overheating. Chevy tow.
- Fan blade sheared off and went into radiator. Navistar tow.
- Alternator went out in a small town that had no parts, I stole the one off the vehicle I was towing and made it to my pickup point to find that I had killed that alternator by trying to recharge the two huge, very dead batteries. had to borrow a chevy and run into town to get a new one.

2000- steering box fell out while father-in law was on vacation in my truck. Ford tow.
- starter went out in a Wal-mart parking lot. Advance delivered one to me in a ford. I had to buy enough tools at wallys to get er done.
- starter circut blew a fuse in the church parking lot. Crawled under it in my suit to short-start it. Dont wear a suit much now.
- Ran it out of fuel thanks to a faulty fuel level sending unit. Ford tow.
- VP went out but was able to limp it home on its own power. Towed it with my 99 to get a new vp.
- Am waiting for the DTT to leave me stranded as it seems to take forever to move it after it sets a while.

Lift pump went, but it died right in front of a house that later became my wife and my first house, so I guess it was a blessing in disguise.

Lift pump at 98,000. Still under warranty. 5 miles from the dealer. But took them almost a week to even look at it.

I have had the injectors fill the crankcase with fuel on two different occassions...towed to Dealer both times. Other than that no problems.

On Edit: That was on the 04.5 not my 06.

First time stuck a tree limb through a sidwall in the pasture.
Street tires in mud also.
Melted down #1 piston pulling 6.5% with 13,000 fiver. see photos
after rebuild blew Intercooler hose on test drive because didn't tighen it down. Pulled same 13,000lb camper 2 miles with only 10lbs boost.
All of mine have been self induced. My father had an 89 bone stock that blew a headgasket at 199,000 but that was the only time.

Bad clutch left me stranded 1 block away from home with less than 1000 miles on the truck. I love my truck!!! I bought it in Texas and just got home to Florida. It was better than spending a week in a motel in Alabama.

Transmissions on my '98--yes....plural. Only until I got rid of anything that was OEM other than the case.

Broke the throttle cable, it went WOT. Limped it home with a length of baler twine through the window. Starter contacts went out right after I bought it used. (100k) Now 205K, so may swap them again soon. That time I was at the neighbors so just called the wife to bring the other truck and a chain.
