Question What do these terms mean?

Sometimes I see some terms here that I don't understand.
Here some of them:

What do they mean and what is it.

cp3?
lift pump?
VB?
Airdog?
pyrometer?
fuel psi?
rail psi?
MBRP?
DDP?
mp8?
Delete?
TQ?(torque converter????)
Silencer ring?
Dual feed line?

And sometimes I see injectors stage 1or2or3 and sometime you are talking in HP (like 90HP)? Why is that?

I hope someone can help me with this so it is less difficult to read for me. (English is not my first language).

Thanks

Roel

cp3? The high pressure fuel pump that supplies fuel to the common rail on 2003 and newer trucks.
lift pump? This is a low pressure pump that gets the fuel from your tank to your engine.
VB? Valve body on an automatic transmission.
Airdog? This is an aftermarket company that makes lift pumps.
pyrometer? Also known as Exhaust Gas Temperature, you put a temperature probe in your exhaust manifold to make sure you don't melt parts of your engine.
fuel psi? Your lift pump pumps fuel at a certain pressure. If this pressure is too low, you will damage your injection pump.
rail psi? On common rail trucks(2003 and newer), there is a fuel rail which provides the fuel to the injectors. If you have too many mods on the truck, the pressure can get to low.
MBRP? An aftermarket manufacturer of exhausts.
DDP? Dynomite Diesel Performance. They are best known for making injectors.
mp8? ???
Delete?
TQ?(torque converter????) Yes, this is a torque converter. It is the equivalent for an automatic transmission of a clutch in a manual transmission.
Silencer ring? Some engines had a ring installed by the turbo to quite it down. A lot of people remove it so they can hear the turbo. Removal does not add power.
Dual feed line? Some of the high horsepower trucks use so much fuel they need a second line to feed the fuel system.

And sometimes I see injectors stage 1or2or3 and sometime you are talking in HP (like 90HP)? Why is that?
The higher the stage is, the bigger the holes are and the more power the injector can support. The actual amount of power depends on the manufacturer.

I hope this helps.

I'll answer what I know, and hopefully someone else will finish it off.

CP3 is the high pressure fuel pump that sends the diesel fuel to the injectors
Lift pump is the pump that sends the diesel from the fuel tank through the fuel filter and on to the CP3
VB is short for valve body
Pyrometer is the gauge that measures exhaust gas temperature
Fuel psi is a measurement of fuel pressure in pounds per square inch
Rail psi is a measure of fuel pressure in the rail in pounds per square inch
Delete means to get rid of something
TQ is short for torque, as in the 06 5.9 CTD is rated 610 ft lb of torque (TQ)
Silencer ring is a device to quieten down turbo noise that some remove

mp8 is a TS Performance pressure box. Increase rail pressure for more horse power.

Delete is most likely referring to removing the muffler.

This makes everythink alot better to read.
Thanks.

But still two questions. What is a Valve Body? And why do you sometimes indicate injectors with stage and sometimes with HP's?

the valve body is what controls how the transmission shift. Upgrading it can allow for better shiffting compared to the stock VB also it provides better fluid pressure at lower rpm's and is neccesary when increasing horse power levels. when injectors are reffered to as stage 1,2,or 3 is usually because its what the manufacture uses and hp rating are different from one to the next
