Mark, check ritchie bros website for auction results for similar trucks, check auto traders and so on. It will give you a ballpark figure to start with.
You can also check other auction company results, as this is occasionally where you will find the true value. Only check unreserved sites though.
You will see spikes here and there, because someone got all horned up about a particular truck, and it sold high, but you would be amazed.
Also, you will find that a private or dealer sale will be higher, but don't get yourself duped. Most 550 class trucks seem to go to auction, are bought by dealers for quick resale at a higher price
