If your over oiled dust catcher is passing stuff and pitting your turbo I doubt they will honor it

All they ever did to me was tell me it was dirty

will they whine? yes
do they have a leg to stand on? Only if your warranty work effects the parts you replaced. (cant warranty an exhaust leak on an aftermarket exhaust)

They didn't void mine YET. Mine was in the shop last week and they made sure on the paper work they put VEHICLE HAS NO MUFFLER. I am just waiting for them to actually pop the hood. I have an AFE filter in the stock box but that is going to change due to that looking like it is trying to suck crap in the box at the seam. I put a good coat of vaseline around the seal to stop it for now. But I have read that they are automaticaly voiding for K&N due to filtration issues and they are on DC dodo list. Hope this helps, I know there are lots with K&N and never had a problem and not trying to start a war, only stating what I have read, please don't shoot me.

funny, several on the nissan boards run K&N over AFE because AFE lets the bad stuff in.

Personally, I wouldn't run a cone type filter open without a foam cover.

If they want to be crappy about it, they can find a way if you change anything. Just remember, I am my own warranty station.

When people ask about too much silicon in a used oil analysis the most common problem is using an oiled foam filter.

One of the things about aftermarket air filters is the only way to let more air in, is to open up the holes that air flows through, therfore letting larger particles in. They have all the right they want to complain, as they guarantee that engine for x amount of time as it is coming from the factory.

You open up the exhaust (which lets moisture get to the turbo seals), and throw on an aftermarket air filter, which may or may not let larger particles through, and you can see why they have an issue with it.

If your concerned w/ a warranty, just dont do it.

It would really hypocritcal for them to deny warranty on a K&N since many dealers used to sell them for the CTD.
