I already knew there were outstanding recalls on my truck but never took care of them because the threat of the damage a typical dealer mechanic could do outweighs the damage of letting the recall go. Especially the one involving underdash wiring, I did it myself rather than trust the dealer.

Yea I know what you mean Bill, I did let them do the throttle cable for me and then went straight home and went over everything they did, and had to do some ajusting. Just curious as to what some have had recalled on thier trucks?? Goodluck,,,,Rick

Doesn't work!!!!!!!

It doesn't work on older generation trucks.
It keeps reading my serial # "is not a valid vin"

Mine had the auto trans drainback valve, vacuum system overhaul, steering shaft cable tie fix, throttle cable, hood latch, shock coil towers, headlight and blower fan electrical. I only let them do the vacuum system, shock coil towers and AT drain back. While they were doing the drain back they replaced the auto trans lines with the improved connector type. This was a gasser only recall, when I asked why they said they thought mine was gasser. I knew about that time I wasn't going to trust them with my truck. Shock coil supports required welding and the dealer sent it out so I figured that one would be ok.

The throttle cable recall was the result of a massive letter writing campaign to the Highway Safety Transportation Board from the members of TDR.

For comparison my '83 Toyota PU had no recalls in it's entire life.

Don't know why?? Mine is a 94 and it brought it up. You can always go by a dealer ship and have them look it up. As Bill has stated and I must agree, It is a bit leary to let them mess with our trucks!! Goodluck,,Rick

I guess this is a good sign:

"No Incomplete Recalls or Customer Satisfaction Notifications Exist"

I got that too.

Must be the 2002's are such a fine truck, no recalls have been necessary.

yet.

Give it a year, I'm sure there'll be something.

I would hope they would work the bugs out after seven years. The early 2nd gens had the recalls because we were the guinea pigs.

The only thing I can see is mine is a first gen from Canada.
Might not work on an American site.
