Which vehicle to take to PA this weekend?

My fiancee' and I are travelling to her parent's house near Scranton, PA this coming weekend. Leaving NC Thursday, coming back Monday.

She's got a really good condition '89 Toyota Celica convertible, tires are about 40-50%
I've got the Mobytruck - tires are about 40% as well. BFG AT's on the back, General all-weather tires up front.

It's gonna snow on Saturday, rain Thursday.

I wanna take the truck, but her car gets twice the mileage I do, and it does ride nicer, but no cruise control. Her seats are a tiny bit better.

I know DRW's suck when the traction gets low, but I drive with sense, and the 4wd will engage if I stop first (another project for another week).

What should we take? I bought my truck from Texas, and I think the fuel heater is removed, if it matters. There is an outlet to plug into at her folks place.

having grown up and lived in the pittsburgh area for 25+ years, I'd take the car. if you were heading west to pittsburgh area, W. MD, or WV, I'd say take the truck. Snow falls fast and heavy over that way.

Have a safe trip.

Given the possiblity of snow (and it's coming as we speak) Niether car sounds ideal--especially since the Celica is a soft-top. Have you considered renting a car? If I had to take one of the other, I'd take the Celica as at least with small tires it would be manageable int he snow. DRW trucks are a real handful if you have not driven them in the snow. Most of all, go slow, don't waste time being in a hurry in a snowstorm, and watch out for the other guys!

I live about an hour South of Scranton and no snow as of yet down here. However, it rained like a banshee all day today. Temps should be in the mid to upper 20's this weekend but no calls for snow. Bring the dually. It will be a helluva lot safer in all of that holiday traffic and it might even intimidate the nieghbors. I know I'll be in mine this Christmas day.

Well, we're here, and I'm SOOOO glad I brought the truck... driving up through the VA/DC/MD rains was nuts, but Moby, being the great while whale she is, took to the water like a...well, you know.

Massive amounts of water were slung from the tires, and I even had Nicole drive for a while, and she couldn't understand why everyone else was having such a hard time driving... It made more sense when I told her that each of the front tires has about the same weight on them as her entire car weighs...

She also tossed me into the windshield the first time she hit the brakes.. "The truck didn't stop this good last time I drove it!" (Before the GM wheel cylinders and a good adjustment of the shoes)

I really wish it would snow.. If I'm gonna freeze my butt off up here, might as well be snowing!
