Urea Injection Systems

One of the many things I'm not clear on regarding these urea injection systems is what happens if you run dry on the aardvark p... or whatever the "juice" is. Does the engine spit and sputter, or shut down, or what?

Yes it will and you will need to go find an aardvark real fast and have him fill the reserve tank back up for you OK, I admit it I have no idea of what will happen when it runs out.

Probably trip off a Klaxon.

Carry plenty of beer to drink so you can refill the urea tank.

My cousins uncles aunts sisters friends neighbors grandma said that a free catheter kit comes with all vehicles equipped with the Urea treats I mean treatment. However, an engineer who worked for the railway told me an engineer that worked on computers saw an engineer that ran a urea factory that got the contract to produce the stuff and thats why theres a shortage of Aardvarks. I think thats what I heard.

Ok, time to step away from the KeYBoaRd

Otherwise I am not really up to snuff on this topic.

Glad I could help though.

My point in asking (obviously) was whether ignoring the "rolling urinal" would cause the vehicle to be undriveable. I know it would cause a failure on an emissions test, but I just wonder how much "wiggle room" there would be.

If it is anything like current emmision catalyst then it wold go something like this. 3 stages of severity. 1st stage is a warning lamp. Nothing happens here, it just tells you that you are out. Stage two, warning lamp still on, nothing else visible. Then it would derate the engine telling you that we could do this my way or your way. Stage three, stop engine light on, severe derate of engine telling you that you need to refill or else. If you go to long like this it would void the warrenty. If the engineers are going to follow their path on the same path as emmisions then it would go something like that.

Probably not, I don't know how it works because I haven't gotten the chance to mess with it yet. I would assume that it would go something like that.
