Turbo education
well, this is my first diesel, and i`m trying to figure these things out.
My question is, what makes the turbo work? How is it possable that it helps to feed the motor air, and push the exhaust out? i know that the air is succked into the turbo, then it goes through the intercooler, then into the engine?
am i close?
Also, what powers it to make it spin?
Just curious
Thx for the knowledge fella`s

Everything you wanted to know about turbos and more.

The short answer: The turbo is powered by the exhaust flowing out of the engine. This causes some restriction, but the power loss from that is more than made up for by the extra air which the turbo pumps into the engine.
