This post comes at a perfect time. Within the last couple of months I took a new job where I get to drive a company truck. Now my wife drives the CTD as a daily driver. I told her the pit crew accidently put gas in that motor and she needs to be sure to only grab the diesel handle when filliing up.
I don't think she'll make that mistake anytime soon.
Was that wrong????

Same here, Plenty of "windowed blocks", but never one split in half horizontally.
That hood must be designed a little stronger than today's plastic one-piece units - IT contained the engine!! We had a 1066 & a 1486 growing up - brings back good memories!

That's a local boy to me, he is from Cambridge, NY. I didn't see that run but I saw the first one he did after that pull. Here are some more neat pictures of other pull disasters. OOOPPPSSS We get some pretty good pulls around this neck of the woods, we still need to work on the local fairs for the diesel trucks though.
