I would not have paid $5,000 for a truck like that with those miles, but that didn't stop someone from buying it at a premeium. I would bet that if it would have been a tundra, it would have been worthless.

What the dealer "gave" for the truck on the trade in for a new truck, and the actual cost he has figured into the truck are two totally different amounts. So while on paper it may appear that he gave 19K for your truck, that is not actually the case.
I am with you on not paying even $5K for a truck like that, anytime you lift and put larger tires on a truck, it hurts resale of that truck alot. But I am in the middle of buying a lift, tires and wheels as we speak. You have to go with what you like.

Not all sales are that way. My last truck had a little over 220,000 hard miles, it was a 1/2 ton 4x4 with the 350 V-8 and automatic transmission. The truck also had 11" of lift and 37" tires. It looked very good, still ran great, and I got $19,000 for it on trade for my Duramax. The dealer sold the truck for $12,900.

if i was in the market for a Lexus truck for weekend home depot warrior use I would get one of those. My thing is they are asking about 10-15K too much. The crew max looks much better than the extended cabs

I test drove one of these right after driving the 07 megacab I want to get.
It makes a nice car but ...
The mega cab was a couple hundred bucks cheaper for WAY more capability
and toyota wont be going diesel any time soon.
Its for guys to take their wives to the nursery to get some flats of petunias or white collar lunch buddies going to subway

Not capable of hanging with the Mighty CTD huh? Maybe not the newest ones, but we weren't always at these power levels of today. It sure looks like the modern day "half ton" is what our previous 3/4 tons were doing. 10,800 lb towing capacity is on par with 3/4 and 1 tons up until the last few years and 10.5" ring gears were the max for years of hard pulling 3/4 tons.
I know, I know, "hook a 2 mile long 5th wheel with my D"85" CAT dozer and 100 tons of steel and we'll see what milage it gets with that gasser engine." Okay whatever. Engines have come a long way in 12 years...

Yea I agree we have V6s putting out the power of the small block V8s of the 70s and Small Block V8s putting out Big Block Power of the 70s. I would not trade a 426 hemi for any of the new small blocks but the new Z06 corvette is putting out 500hp now.

Lifted (and non lifted) Toyotas, including Tundra, T100s, and Tacoma all hold there value very well. I looked at a lifted (only 6") 96 T100 not that long ago and it had about 190k and they wanted $7900 for it. It wasn't there for too long, so I assume it sold. On a truck like that, it is all about the buyer, some will pay more for the mods, others think it decreases value.

I find them ugly, honestly. Maybe other people find them attractive, but I can't stand them. Engine wise, maybe its okay, but really...why wouldn't you want a diesel?

I am surprised that the frame on them will hold up to what they are asking it to do. Also the price of them is at or higher then the price of a Dodge 4x4 with a CTD.
