I hope you dont plan to pull your travel trailer with that "thing". Id like to see that "truck" with a 20+5ft Goosneck and a 10k lb tractor on it.... We will see if it really is a "truck" or not. I mean, If you really want a minivan just buy one... Im sorry, but there isnt any way on this Earth id trade my 12 valve with over 200k miles on it for that piece.

Sorry, it might look good but with diesel being cheaper than gas where I fill up the economics don't add up and the power just ain't there. They'll do good at getting some of the cmapers and hunters but no heavy hauler is gonna grab one , at least that's my thoughts.

The 5.5' bed makes pulling a 5er impossible.
I don't get how they come up with the numbers. It has about 2500# more towing, yet has just 5# more payload compared to the current tundra Shouldn't the payload go up a minimum of 250# (10% of 2500#) for this to work like it should?

"the entire engineering development program was headquartered right down the road in Ann Arbor. Styling was done at our Calty Design Center in California and Michigan. Engines will be built in Alabama, and transmissions in North Carolina, with final assembly at production facilities in Texas and Indiana."
There's really nothing "import" about. All American labor. Components, you ask? I remember seeing something off my truck that said "Made in Mexico". The import arguement is getting really old.
Slap a diesel in it and I'm all over it. I Love toyota's!

Its kind of interesting to read some of these replies....
I used to own a Toyota 4X4. Bought it new in 89', and I have to tell you, it was one tough SOB!! I literally beat the HELL out of that thing (4Xing, etc), and it kept purring like a kitten!
There's a reason why Toyotas and Hondas, etc hold their value.... because they are VERY well built! I also own a Honda (Acura) and the last car I had was also a Honda (Acura) with 243,000 miles on it and still going strong when I sold it!
I purchased the Dodge 2500 diesel I currently own because through my research, I thought it to be the best deal with the most reliable engine out there (IMO of course).
Now if the Toyota were to come out with a reliable diesel (say like the Cummins), I would DEFINATELY take a close look at it! Perhaps I wouldn't buy the first or 2nd year, but if they proved to be as reliable as their past trucks in a heavy duty full sized version....... why not???

I was told yesterday by a Toyota dealers son that Toyota will be coming out with a 1 ton truck and that it will shake up the pickup truck world just like the crewmax will! I told him I'll have to see it with my own two eyes to believe it.

I traded in an '04 F-150 Supercrew for the truck I have now. The bed in that thing was worthless. That Toyota looks like the same thing. It's probably way better in quality than the Ford. This "Crewmax" isn't for the "working man", it's for the "soccer mom". Everyones opinion of a "truck" is different. I bought my truck for hauling, pulling and playing. I'd sooner get a minivan than that thing. Now if they extend the bed, put a reputable diesel in it and raise it up a few inches I'd bite.
