Well - that looks a HECK of a lot better than pictures that we've seen lately of that truck. That looks much more proportionate. I'll give it to Toyota on the door design on that one - I think it looks much better than the cut and paste approach Dodge seems to have taken with the MegaCab. From some angles I still think the MegaCab looks like the entire extra cab space is a complete afterthought.

But the Toyota still looks like it's only a half ton, and I'll bet that cab takes up a bunch of the payload weight. I like how they mentioned the towing acceleration test too. What did they compare it to? A Dodge half ton MegaCab with a Hemi? If so, I'd assume the yota would probably win with (probably) less weight and more HP and torque...

Now if they come out with a 3/4 ton and 1 ton with a reputable diesel in that package..... Oh and a decent price.... But those are BIG ifs...

I think I'll stick with what I've got thank you very much.

P.S - why is this in the diesel section? It doesn't mention anything about being a diesel....

Looks like there's another discussion about it in the 'Other' section: https://www.dieseltruckresource.com/...d.php?t=131070

Seen one the other day on a transporter at a truck stop. Not the crewmax but an extended cab and it looked like a well built half-ton. The trucker was fueling up in the lane next to me, so I gave it a good look. It appeared to be much larger truck than the Titan directly in front of it. If they come with a dually diesel, I will definately give it a look.

Looks pretty good if you want a half ton gasser. I love the look of the new FJ-40, drove one, liked it. If it came with a diesel I would sell my tdi VW daily driver and get one.

I think it's OK if you want a 5'5 box. Once the seats are reclined, you lose a pile of leg room...and where is the storage behind the back seats?
Motor Trend did not think it was any better overall than any of the current half ton gassers.
Last I read was that Toyota is still looking for a diesel engine supplier...would be lucky to see one by 09 model year.

I still need more than 4.5 ft of bed. I think I'll keep my 8' bed.

At an average price tag of $47k, they can have their gasser...........

Looks like all companies are making their trucks to look like Dodges.

No thanks, unless it is a dually with a diesel not interested. Toyota has a ways to go. Even if it was Nissan they still would have a ways to go. Learning curve thing.
