Automotive News reported this about a year ago, but it only said "....by the end of the decade" so when it shows up is anyone's guess.

Hey, I already have an Acura 3.2TL-S, built in Marysville, OH by a Japanese company - it's never been back to the dealer for a warranty problem.

I have heard this also, with you being in TX have you heard any specifics?? I knew they are supposedly going to build a plant there but have yet to start construction on it.. I also heard that is was just another Tundra plant which doesn't make sense to me. If Toyota can get it right the first time I will be in line, but knowing them it will be on par with about the 1998 standards of the big 3. In typical Toyota fashion it will sell based on quality, not on how it will compete with other HD's. I really hope I'm wrong but I doubt it.

Ground was broken for the San Antonio plant on October 17, 2003, and construction on the plant is well along. Toyota is also providing space for a number of their suppliers to build on the plant site. It's on the south side of San Antonio. More info HERE.

I still don't understand why people think the Yoda's are such good vehicles? I have a friend who is a Yoda Service Manager at a big dealership, and he says they have as many problems as anyone elses. He has worked for Ford, Chrysler and BMW in the same position.

I had 2 Lnadcruisers a 1982 BJ60 and a 1983 BJ60 (yup they were both Diesels). The first one had 360000mi on it and the second had 442000mi on it. I never did anything to them other than change the vital fluids. If Toyota brings the Diesels back to Canada, I will definitely buy one.

I have an 82 2wd that still runs great, my dad has a 95 Avalon with 175k no problems, I had a Tacoma and Tundra prior to the Ram and they were great. I only got the Ram for 6speed diesel power. When Toyota comes out with a manual tranny 4 door diesel I will be waiting in line to drive one. Every Toyota my family has ever owned has been great and that is about 8 in the last 10 years between my mom, dad, and I.

I had one, a Supra it was a piece of junk, my dad had a 4X4 mini pick up-it died in a year of hard driving. I had a Dodge Diplomat 318-I sold it with 239,000 miles 5 years later the guy I sold it to was still driving it. So what every body has good and bad.

So do I 312k on it, engine has never been touched, burns a quart of oil every 5k.
I've worked on a lot of Toyota trucks, quality started going down in '85 then even more in '92. The pre '85s were indestructible.

didn't intend to get a riot started here. Just the old UAW left in me from when i worked for Gm and the "made in America " banner inside my head. Guess i am still wishfull that the good ol days of Americans building and working for Americans were still here.

I have heard it said so many times that we won the war. Looking at the state of the economy ect . gives a person pause to wonder.

It's just what the market has shown over the years. If you look at resale values alone, that will tell you what people believe to be a good car.

I love Toyota's - my '98 4runner has gotten basic maintenence and just clicked over 150k miles - still drives like new.

My '94 Supra - made almost 800 rwhp with just a little bit of boost. Not bad for a turbo in-line 6 eh?

I have been looking around the net about this, and I've have seen a bunch of people saying that the new Toyota diesel will be powered by the Duramax?? I can't see Toyota really going with another companies motor, but they are big pals with GM. I'd say they will keep it in house.
