Tired of diesel truck...
#77
In just under 140k miles 1 starter and 2 alternators on my 2003 VW TDI.
46 to 48 mpg 50 miles to work @ 80 mph, 10 mph to home.
My wife takes the 97 camping and I take the 04 shooting.
I wish she'd swap.

"Tired of diesel Truck?"
NOT ME! Although the DMax is my wife's daily driver, I drive a 2wd F150 (company truck: "The only good Ford is a FREE Ford" I always say)
For us, we only own 1 vehicle (not counting my old Jeep), so it has to be a pickup to tow the trailers, and has to be a crew cab to haul the kids.
I haven't met anyone w/ a 1/2 ton truck that gets as good of fuel mileage, especially towing. No 1/2 ton's that are as fast, 'cept a buddy w/ a supercharged Tundra and he spent $5k to make his truck almost as fast as mine w/only a $700 programmer.
Oil changes only every 8-9k mi, compared to 3-6k mi on my gassers depending on wheather I ran synthetic or not.
Initial cost was considerably more than the same truck w/ a 6.0 or 8.1 gas engine, but it's still worth that much more now, and will be when I sell it, so no money lost there, just a little more tied up in the truck.
Repairs have been non existant (Knock on wood) up to 80k mi now, except for a power window that went **** up. WOulda happened on a gasser too.
Honestly can't think of any reason not to have a diesel if you need to have a truck of similar size anyway.
