Thieves.............

During the night someone drained my diesel fuel tank that I just filled up at 3>32 a gallon.

Where can I get a ocking fuel cap?

I might just put my pit bull next to my truck.....

I'm thinking about adding a switch to the fuel filler door that hooks to my air horn solenoid.

I figure I'll be able to find him by looking for the deaf guy with the brown shorts.............

Don't fill it full of water. You'll have to drain it and refill it before you drive it again. Just get a locking cap.

Funny story for you guys, I know a local waterman who was having the same problem with someone stealing gas out of his gas can on his boat. One night he filled the gas can with salt water........the next morning as he was heading out to fish his crab traps he saw another waterman adrift waving his arms for help. The stranded waterman said he got some bad gas at the local marina...it had water in it!! The "good waterman" said he would give him a tow, after he finished fishing his crab traps.......8 hrs later.

locking cap ain't gonna help.if they want the fuel they'll get it.might as well let em suck it out the top rather then chop a hole in the tank.believe me i've seen it done.

Yeah. At least a locking cap keeps the lazy thieves honest. And if you think about it, most of them are lazy.

Locking cap was one of my first mods too. I got mine from Genos for under $15 if I remember correctly. Another good cheap mod from Genos to do at this time is the fuel flap that keeps diesel burp from becoming a big problem. It was about $12 and one of the best mods Ive made towards keeping the truck clean!

They'll get the fuel if they want it bad enough though. I read somewhere on here recently where some guys used a paint scraper or knife to wear through the plastic tank!

One word on the locking cas cap stuff.....

Just get the cap do not get the fuel door lock,if they want in they will pry the outer door open doing all kinds of body damage.

If you want to have a little fun get a diesel 5 gal can and fill it with some #3 or 4 deisel and leave it out by "accident".

Had an old 5 gal metal gas can filled with water we left wired up to a 110 outlet,I have a cam that is hooked up to see my garage area, got 3 in 4 days trying to pick it up,ya it was funny to watch them jerk there hand back.

In todays politically correct world, I only have one thing to say about this sort of behavior.... That is frickin' hilarious and its on video too

At the scholl district where i work, several years ago, someone discovered a bus driver filling up his bus, then after dropping off all of his kids, he'd go to his secrect place and siphon out two 5 gal jugs of gas.

Our transportation dept noticed his gas usage spiking, yet his miles driven wasn't changing. The decided to follow his bus as it made it's route one day, so that's how they caught him.

The guy in charge of the bus barn got two jugs identicle to what he had, and after he made his siphon job the next day, he swapped the jugs for his two full of water. He called in the next day because his car quit on him. He was told to check the tank for water. And yes, he did get fired.
