Thanks DTR!

I just did the first oil change on my truck, and the recommendations for the oil filter wrench from Geno's Garage/plastic bag made it go very well.

The filter from Chrysler was on there so tight, I could have never removed it without buying a big ole pipe wrench and taking everything apart. It took a lot of force using my 30" wrench...

The Fumoto oil drain valve is in now, and that thing is awesome.

Thanks DTR - you guys rock!

Ah yessssssssssssssss

I remember my 1st oil change. The durn thing was on so tight the filter cap wrench kept slipping, spent 15 minutes on it and gave up. Cleaned the bottom of the filter and the inside of the cap wrench with brake cleaner, slapped a bunch of quick dry epoxy inside the filter cap wrench with the socket extension plugged in, pushed it on the filter and waited 4 hours. It came right off. Never did get that filter and cap wrench apart though. Had to send the wife to autozone to buy a new one.

I wouldn't call that luck.

I've had filters on so tight, even the screwdriver thru the filter trick almost didn't work - the screwdriver just ripped through the filter. But yeah, Chrysler apparently really didn't want this one to come off by accident.

I seem to have exaggerated on the length of my wrench. Alas, it's only a 22".

I would. Bad.....bad luck.

With my end cap wrench and a 10" extention, mine came off easy. IIRC, no one else has ever had an easy time with the first filter change. I should have gone to the casino that day with that good luck.
