Tell me about your Deuce-and-a-half (M35) 6x6
I know someone here HAS to own one.
Tell me what you learned about buying one. As in where you bought it, and is it what you wish you would of bought. Is it a multi-fuel, does it have a winch, is it everything I can imagine it might be?
I'm thinkin of taking the plunge and wanted your advice. If you have/had one any feedback is appreciated.
Thanks!

Don't own one, but have driven my fair share in the Seabees. They are very nice trucks. Go almost anywhere. The motors are ok, if they are running right. The multifuel engines can be a pain at times. I myself would buy a 5 ton smoker. Its just a little stouter and a little bigger.

We have one, its a M108 crane/wrecker. Kinda rare from everything I can figure. Its a 1954 Reo, had the 331 cu. in. gas engine in it, thats out and its going to get a multi fuel put in it eventually from the donor truck I have (someone hacked it up, took the rear axle off and made it a single axle). We broke the diff in the first rear pulling a D6 Cat, so they will pull like crazy.

Mine is a '72 Deuce. I wanted a diesel truck before I had my 07.5 Dodge and I thought a Deuce would be great for hauling firewood in. It has a pto driven winch that I've only used once to pull out a gasser 3/4 Dodge. I lucked out and got a truck that was in great shape. The previous owner of the truck got it from the government with a desert tan paint scheme (went overseas in 91'-92') and painted it CARC camo. I had a garage built right before I purchased the truck and as luck would have it one of the bays has a 9'x9' door and the Deuce fits through barely. I have about an inch and a half from the stack to the top of the door and I have to fold in the left mirror. I put a set of lockout hubs on it and it steers pretty easily now. If you want to see some pics just pm me an e-mail address and I'll send them.

I've got a few miles behind the steering wheel of one when I was in the guard. Love the way they sound. Won't do much more than 55mph on the highway though. Drove one from Salt Lake to Colorado Springs and back on the interstate. That got old in a hurry, I'm sure it makes a much better farm truck/huntin' rig than highway cruiser . BTW, drove it outbound on gasoline, back on JP-4. Someone explain to me how that works?
A farmer around here has one he hauls hay with. Long way to chuck a bale if you ask me!
