I was on the TDR for 4 years and found it to be very vendor biased, friend of a vendor biased. Administration couldn't even stick to their own rules, letting vendors edge in over paying members. I even had guys edit my posts and then stick them up on threads for everyone to read which was not the way I had wrote the sentence and was misleading. They would also put things that I had privately e-mailed them and post them on a public forum in hopes of getting me kicked off, of course the private e-mail was nasty, that was the intent. They never did succed in getting me kicked off, after 4 years I just had enough. The guy is actually a vendor now. Administration always took the vendors side.

The magazine on the other hand was a great instrument for information.

I found this site and have never looked back.

I never had that much trouble, they just deleted my posts without warning or cause. Considering I was one of the first 1000 members, I was kinda choked.

I too haven't looked back, too many other options..

I had the same sentiments about vendors, but I thought I was alone on that one. Thanks..

I'm not a member there, but I like to read the posts. One of these days when I really need some information, I'll pay. One thing I've noticed over there is they don't allow too much bashing of other sites. I've never noticed anyhting as far as being biased toward vendors. But hey, I'm not a member, I could be wrong. I've found both TDR and DTR informative, and both sites have helped me solve a lot of problems. I think the original topic of this post was a subscription problem, not a which site is better? question.

4 years on the TDR, and have NEVER had any problems. Both sites need work in certian areas, but that is with EVERY SITE EVER.

243, good to see you again.

I like the pay aspect of TDR. It tends to increase the overall quality of membership, though there are a handful of members there that are DESPERATELY trying to prove me wrong.

There are always people who are so obnoxious you would pay big money to NOT have them on the site, but you have to take the good with the bad.

I like DTR, but I prefer TDR if I had to choose. My experience has been that TDR membership is worthwhile even though it's not free.

I DO like DTR, but I have my own issues with the attitudes each site takes towards its advertisers.

I have few complaints with either site, but if I want to get a conversation going, or start a tech discussion, I'm more apt to poston tdr and maybe link it here.

I will always search and post on the TDR first when I want to know something. Just a habit because it seems that I get about 50% response from either site. Kinda a toss up but I turn to the TDR first. Also have close to 400 posts on the TDR. Been here a year less.

all of the big dogs are on tdr. when i had my clutch installed the haisley's were looking at the site. they said they look at it every morning just to see what people are talking about. they say they never post on there and they said its a bad business practice to get on there and argue with customers and prove people wrong. i guess they believe in doing it the old fashion way, if you need help just call them. i did ask them about this site and they said they never heard of it.

To much complaining and whinin on the TDR. There are a few guys who always try to start this east coast west coast stuff and they try to dump on us westerners. As far as I can tell alot of those guys who claim huge Hp never put it to use on a track and proove all that Hp is usable not just dyno queens. JMHO

I'm a TDR member and frequent both the TDR and this site as well as iRV2.com. TDR and DTR have their individual strengths and weaknesses, but both have their place in the Dodge/Cummins virtual universe.

No kidding.
I was a moderator there for two years. Give you one guess what I spent much of my time doing. I see very little of the same type of censorship here, a much more well behaved crowd. Don't know why it is that simple topics can get so argumentative on tdr but not here. May have to do with the $35 making people feel they are entitled to say whatever they please.
This site rocks.

I didn't know that you were a moderator there, wow..

I agree, the $35 seems to make everyone feel they are entitled to say whatever they want and not take into consideration some of the fallout. Taking a few seconds before you hit the "post" button makes a big difference.

You would think that with Cummins and Dodge posting links to the TDR on their websites, TDR would be run a little more professionally. But the daycare atmosphere seems to sit well with Miss Robin. I finally couldn't enjoy it anymore and started looking elsewhere. After I was told about this site, I haven't even gone back there out of curiosity. DTR should be the link from Dodge and Cummins. Much more impressive and professional.
