Tall and skinny tires, 255 KM2 on SRW truck, and towing?

Im looking at getting some 255/80/17 for my 2002 LB CC SRW truck. I wanted to see any pictures with tall and skinny tires. ALSO, i have a slide in camper, it weights around 2500 LBS, should tis handle ok? Any input would be great

255 X 80 X 17 TIRES are wider and slightly taller than what comes on a stock truck. ?? Should work fine. I assume you have the 17" rims.

Stock his truck came with either 245/75/16's or 265/75/16's, which the 265's are the wider of the two at about 10.5 inches. The 255/80/17's are just over 10 inches wide, but an inch taller. Still though, it's a moot point without the 17's. The tires should handle the camper without a problem as they're E rated.

Just to clarify the issue, the 245x75x16's are 30.47" in dia

The 265x75x16's are 31.65" in dia and the 255x80x17 are 33.06" in dia.

So, the 255x80x17's are not as wide and taller than his stock tires.

I don't see what difference it makes.

I have these tires, and they do take a little more air than my 285/70 Toyo AT's did to be stable, but they are great. I have been super happy with them. I have had the truck GVW up to 10,500 and had no isses with sway, steering, etc.

Its a great tire.. if only they would wear a little slower.
