Taking Leave home to TX Finally

Hey guys, well I finally got leave and am heading home to Angleton TX friday. My dad said he ended up with 5 5.9 marine engines with a load of detroit stuff he got. What parts from these can be used..ie: Block, head and so on. Let me know because I am gonna strip them and figure out the good useable stuff for our trucks, then will be able to sell/use the stuff cheap or at least have cores for folks. Also sounds like he has a lot of Cat stuff too if anyone needs anything while I am home digging around.

Yea tell me about it. I hope to get some good videos for all the Detroit Diesel guys here, we plan on running as few when I get in. The air starters firing of in the shop are awesome sounding. Just hard not having my truck with me.

Well I grew up in Houston and spent lot of time in that area also over the years. Went surf/jetty fishing with my grandfather in the 50s, usually on the Quintana side of the jetties. Still go fishing there when I have the time, never enough. It is still a little out of the way for the average guy.

Have a good trip. Actually been kind of mild summer so far, only hit 100 one day so far in Houston.

i would like a cam from one, and a 370 hp pump would be nice. but i guess i am just dreaming, but a set of marine pistons would be cool. man the more i think about it the more stuff i want. i can't help it, i always need stuff.

Why don't you get it over with and ask for the whole engine.
