Syn-torque syndrome

Well its nice to know the trans was done 20k ago in my truck and I called the builder to ask if he has Syntorque for sale and he didnt seem to know what I was talking about. Locally my DC dealer wants $32.62 a quart and a local supplied can get it in 16 gallon pails minimum for $320 or so. Funny how I cant seem to even find it on Castrols website. Why is this so tough to find? Not like there arent any CTDs running around these days. Anyone have any luck with redline or Amsoil? what kind or type is sutiable for a 95 5 speed NV4500.

If you need to go that way, a GM dealer has the same qualifaction stuff for about half the price. They use the same transmission in many of their vehicles.

Castrol has a deal worked out with the big three where only they can sell Syntorq in small quantities. You have to buy from someone who buys a drum and rebottles it or pay the price.
I get it here for $54/ga http://www.standardtransmission.com/dodge.html bottom of page

Im considering buying the 16 gal drum and selling what I dont use. I contacted redline also today and was told a 50/50 mix of MTL and one of their gear lubes(cant remember) was also sutiable. Also my local diesel shop says they use redline also without problems.
