Anyone have experience with these?

Ballpark price?

Where can I buy one?

Everything I find on the internet seems to be UK or somewhere else overseas.

It's not for my truck.

Thanks

Here are a few manufactures of spring starters for diesel engines, there are also hydraulic starters, air starters.

Hand crank Inertia starters and combustion starters (Coffman Starters) have been used in military aircraft since WW-2 turning a crank would accelerate a heavy brass flywheel in the starter then a clutch would unload the stored kinetic energy to spin the engine.

This would be nice to have as an axillary starter in addition to the battery, for my EMP hardened Ist Gen.

I looked into one similar to this for the 2 cyk Faryman diesel on my boat a few years ago after I spent 250.00 getting the starter rebuilt. It was over 750.00 then and that was over 14 years ago.
