Brilliant! I wonder if you could just use the small propane bottles for torches and lanterns? It would be a PITA to carry around a tank of LP from your grill...
If you could find a regulator of some sort I think it may work. I don't think running a hose of a torch tip would cut it unfortunetly...

just use diesel through a furnace nozzle. Works good. You need a continuous spark though. You can buy a continouos 12v spark module from an RV furnace supplier. All you need is at least 40 psi (though 100 is best)from a petrol rated shur-flo or equivalent and a furnace nozzle in the neighborhood of .85/80*. (.85 gph/80 degree cone) Presto...flame thrower.
Sorry to get serious on a comical thread... ....but that's how to do it alright.

I was thinking of doing it out of my 6" exhaust tip. Just trying to figure out how far the flame would actually go?
So is there not enough pressure out of a propane tank to push through a N20 nozzle? Running a spark plug off of a relay and switch would provide constant spark correct?

I can't wait! You got to fill us in on the install details! I've dreampt of doing this for quite some time now.
Exhaust pressure is another thing I didn't think about, with 2 5" stacks will there be enough pressure to blow up some flames? I don't want to go crazy with 10' flames, just a nice 1 or 2 foot would be nice!
