Talking Some Exhaust 'Fireworks'

Coming sometime soon will be my stax for my truck and I got to thinking, how do truckers(being diesel of course) shoot flames outta their exhaust? I've seen some in show competitions do this and all I've found out is that there's some set of sparkplug attached to the pipe itself? So down the road, for 'show purposes' and nothing else, I would like to be able to do this. And if it's not too much of a hastle I'd like a little bit of a thorough explanation.

There's nothing else really to it. Just a sparkplug, a switch, and some wires to spark the sparkplug. Oh, and lots of unburnt fuel aka smoke.

the ones i have seen had a pump with a line from the fuel tank into the stack right below the spark plug, a very small nozzel should do the trick, you would need something to generate the spark with tho, maybe an old magneto would work.

There is a kit available for gas engines it is called the FLAMETHROWER, might want to check into it maybe you can incorporate it into your project.

a couple of oily 2x4's down the stacks... once they get hot enough, they will combust... you'll get flames out the stacks then..

Don't give him and his buddy kcastun any "bright" ideas like that, Nick. They're likely to try that one.

Could you use propane? Maybe rig up a couple lines from a small bottle like the ones you get in a store for your torch? Or would that be too big of a space and not enough propane to ignite?

Get the old 'flamethrower' going and we could have ourselves a little grill downtown in the mall parking lot. Think of all the business we could have

BTW... I got to thinking... the flames might be a bit dangerous... who knows, kcastun might go and try sitting on one of the stax and 'accidentally' end up with a flame broiled behind OR lose all the hair on his head...
