Sleeping in your truck.

idling the engine for too long can make it start "slobbering oil" if everything is not just perfect in the motor. just a little above idle is better than idle. say 1100 rpms. plus-it puts you to sleep a lot sooner! i use a light stick and hold the gas pedal down a hair. make sure it wont vibrate itself down and hold the pedal to the floor while your sound asleep though!

Generally yes....
On the '06 and up trucks (and I think back all the way back to the '04.5) have a high idle control you can have the dealer enable. Using the cruise control buttons, you can control the idle from 1100-1500.

You won't use up all the air if you sleep in it with the windows all the way up and the engine off. Or I would dead. I've tried a nap or two in it, usually in the driver's seat laid back. But it's not comfy, for me. I'm 6'2" and have prospered over the years (belly).
But recently, I drove from Montgomery, to MN, east in WI, and down into IN, and had to crash. I pulled into a rest area at 9 PM and set my alarm on my cell phone at 5 AM. All the while I was thinking, yeah right, I'll never get comfortable enough to doze much more than an hour. Plus, there's too much activity in a rest area, I never feel quite safe (even with the Glock (Model 23)). I slept on the rear seat. I switched sides of the cab my head was on, (one time only because there's not enough room to roll over in a quad cab ), and boom ... the alarm went off.
I couldn't believe it. I was astonised I slept that soundly. 8 solid hours of rock hard sleep. I must have barely moved except to switch sides one time. Went to the restroom, came back, cranked the truck, messed around for a few minutes to let the windows clear. I kept the windows all the way up because it was pretty cool outside (~50F) and I had no covers. Proceeded to Atlanta and then back to Montgomery. TCB.

Seems hard to imagine that the truck can be air tight??? They aren'twater tight or they'd float! hahaha
like all the vents and stuff are just a staright through passage with the mix door and fan in between right??
I know I have slept in my trucks lots of times and never had an issue.

Carbon monoxide is a danger at all times. I once had poisening because of an exhaust leak on a cab over. I have a monoxide monitor in my truck and if a reefer pulls in next to me it will set it off many times. As was said make sure to park with the wind at the front of the truck.
If you want to be safe, spend $39 at Lowe's and velcro the monitor in the cab and watch the levels. Carbon Monoxide is like arsonic, it builds in your system. Takes a while to get it out.
An example, I am sitting in the truck with nothing running and no nearby trucks. I am smoking. The monitor has 46 for the level. The alarm goes off at 78. It is not something to play with, its a killer.

i find the front seats folded down can be pretty comfortable. in the winter i used to carry blankets with me to school all the time. i had a 3 hour break in the morning so i used that time to catch up on my sleep.

Very true. Four people died just this morning down in Madison, WI while sleeping in a trailer at the Clydesdale Expo.
